Giving out instruction such as yelling ‘cut’ for the clips, making sure which camera to go ‘On Live’, when I should give the sound crew instruction on the music, and making sure everything in the control room goes smoothly frustrates me the most during studio production for today’s lesson because I’m not the type of person who could gives out command even though I could take this chance to practice in being the Studio Director but I didn’t have the courage to be one. From the first rehearsal, I find that I’m not giving the command clearly to the visual mixer when to ‘cut’ to Cam 1, 2, or 3 and K2 server and it makes everyone in the control plus the floor people and sound crew confuse when is Cam 1, 2 or 3 ‘On Live’ or when the talent suppose to do the voice over, when the CG prompter suppose to be screen, when the video suppose to play.
So that’s why after the 2nd break out, I decided to change position with Eliza after a discussion with my team mates as I told them that I’m not confidence enough in myself to be a Studio Director. Maybe in the future, I overcome my fear on giving out instructions to the people and much practice I could be a Studio Director or else I prefer being a Cameraman or Editor as it’s the position that I’m comfortable with.
