Haix... Today lesson is about Myths, Legend, Folk tale and Urban Legend. The faci takes a story from Christian or shall I say Bibble. Here goes her story, Joseph and His Coat of Many Colors
Around the age of 17, Joseph experienced jealousy and hatred from his brothers. Now Israel loved Joseph more than any of his sons, because he had been born to him in his old age and he made a richly ornamented robe (coat of many colors) for him. When his brothers saw that their father loved him more than any of them, they hated him, and could not speak a kind word to him. As a result of his brothers’ hatred, it turned out that they managed to sell Joseph for 20 shekels of silver to a group of Midianite merchants. The brothers drenched Joseph’s coat in animal blood and told their father that Jacob had been devoured by a wild animal. Joseph was then sold by the Midianite merchants to Potiphar as a slave. For Joseph’s well being, Potiphar’s house was blessed by the Lord. Potiphar realized this and made Joseph overseer of his house. Unfortunately, Joseph was falsely accused of improper behavior towards Potiphar’s wife. Although Joseph was imprisoned, he was able to act as a warden in the prison, at the same time he was a prisoner. God helped Joseph by allowing him to correctly interpret a number of dreams. In the dreams there was a warning of a coming famine. By predicting this famine, Joseph was released from prison, and given a high ranking position in the Egyption Kingdom. Egypt was well prepared for the great famine because of Joseph’s prediction. When Joseph’s brothers came to Egypt to buy food he decided to forgive them. Joseph realized that God had planned what had happened for a reason. Now pour many colors of candy into your container. As you are pouring the different colors, let it remind you of Joseph’s story about his coat of many colors.
What do you think is this Legend, Myths, Folktale, and Urban Legend???
