    DREAMiNG OF YOU - Selina
    let it out

    Friday, February 27, 2009

Currently, I'm hooked to this singer. She is new rising singer, Krystal Meyers. I love her new single, Make some noise. That's a nice song to listen. Love the beat of the music... Here is something about her taken from her websites...
Faith is irrepressible. Whether it's whispered or shouted, it ignites a passion that must be shared, and that spark burns brightly throughout pop artist Krystal Meyers' new release, Make Some Noise (9/9/08). It's a potent set of songs that find the talented 20-year old exploring new musical territory while continuing to serve up the kind of insightful lyrics that made her first two albums so groundbreaking.

"This music is fun and energetic and is going to be fun on stage," says Meyers, who is already performing some of her new songs in concert to enthusiastic response. "It's a different kind of energy. Some of the songs like 'S.O.S.' and 'My Freedom' are more
guitar-driven, but there are other songs like 'Shine,' the first radio single, that are totally
80's-inspired, fun, dance, pop/rock music. It's a diverse record that defines my different musical layers."

Meyers first burst on the scene with her self-titled Essential Records debut in 2005, spawning her breakthrough hit "Anticonformity," a song she wrote at camp before entering ninth grade. Her debut set spawned four top ten singles and also launched her career abroad. Her sophomore album, Dying For a Heart, solidified Meyers' stature as one of the top artists in Christian music—earning her a second Dove nomination in the female vocalist of the year category--and boosting her audience overseas, earning her major pop star status in Japan.

A beautiful young woman, always effortlessly fashionable, Meyers is almost an anomaly in today's culture. In a world where young artists seem to continually wind up as troubled tabloid fodder, she's a successful recording artist who is incredibly grounded and ever mindful of her platform as an influencer. She's equally comfortable appearing on the cover of Nylon Magazine (Japan) or speaking to young girls on the Revolve tour, an outing she's looking forward to this fall.

As an artist who has recorded three albums before her 20th birthday, it's obvious Krystal Meyers has a lot to say, but Make Some Noise reveals a young woman whose faith has grown exponentially over the past couple of years. "I have a more mature relationship with God," Meyers states. "I'm 20 years old, that's four years difference between my first record and this record. There's a lot that goes on within those years---being a teenager and coming into adulthood and then being on my own for two years. There's a lot of maturity that has happened and a lot of heart changes that have happened."

Achieving that spiritual maturity was a rather uncomfortable road and Meyers admits she went through some difficult times. "I was so tired of getting up on stage and acting like I was a 'together girl' who was touring the world and everything was going right, when everything was wrong," she says in describing what she calls her winter season. "It's not that I was going through anything terrible, but I wasn't in tune with God and it was awful because He is my best friend. He daily pursues us, but I wasn't running back towards Him."

Meyers began diving into Scripture and feeling her parched soul refill. She began to pour her emotions into new songs. "I don't think I've ever truly said 'Okay this is who I am! This is me! I'm going to put it all out there!' I don't think I ever let myself be that vulnerable."

Once she'd shaken off the burden of trying to pretend all was perfect in her world, Meyers felt free to explore a different musical palette. Though she's been primarily known as a rock chick, Make Some Noise has a buoyant pop flavor. "I want to be making records that reflect who I am, what I'm currently listening to and what music that I'm influenced by," says Meyers. "When you're writing records that are actually you, people tend to connect better with what's being communicated."

Musically the title track is a delicious pop confection, but lyrically it's a bold call to stand up for what you believe. "It's about getting out there and making a positive impact," shares Meyers. "Many people say that my generation is a dying generation; that we're hopeless and have nowhere to go, but I don't agree. I think people are more involved. We care about the environment, social justice, politics, those in need - we care about things that are making a difference in our world. It's important for us to make an impact, but the only way you can make an impact is if you are loud about it. You can't just sit in a corner and be reserved. Live out loud! Make some noise!"

"Shine" is another upbeat song of encouragement. "That's my favorite song on the record and it's so fun to play live," enthuses Meyers. "Recently, I've really learned that I have to be excellent in all that I do. I need to use the talents and opportunities that God has given me, to the fullest extent possible. The line from the song that says 'nobody's going to get in the way of my shine,' definitely sums up what this song is about. I'm blessed to be on this exciting journey, and I'm not going to let anything get in the way of my shine."

Though there are moments of unbridled joy on the record, Meyers also bares her soul on several emotional tracks that showcase not only the strength and maturity in her vocals but also the depth of her songwriting gift. "S.O.S." is a poignant song that finds Meyers being totally vulnerable and crying out to God. "My Freedom" is an achingly transparent ballad. "I've come out of this place in my life where I've been dry and needing a spiritual revival, needing God to pour out and open up the flood gates on me," she reveals. "The song talks about how beautiful and how wonderful it is to be set free. I know what the consequences are in not spending time with God and how dry and how bad it hurts to be further and further away. Christ is my freedom and that is such an encouraging and beautiful thing to experience."

Krystal Meyers is a young woman who is not afraid to make some noise. She doesn't hesitate to open her heart, be totally vulnerable and share her struggles. Yet she's also quick to celebrate those moments of freedom and triumph along her journey of faith, and she's quick to encourage others to do the same. "You can be cool! You can have fun, but you can also make a positive impact," she says. "You're not just walking around this earth with nothing to offer. I promise you, you have something to give to the world. Everyone does. So go on and make some noise!"

My Shirley dear stop by in Singapore yesterday evening. Her flight suppose to reach here by 6pm but her flight was delayed for almost 1 hour in Malaysia. I went and meet up with her once my work done, I purposely miss 3 train because it was too packed with people in the train. So I manage to squeeze in the train and carefully hold my gift for Shirley.

I was super happy when I see her, I missed her a lot. We haven't seen each other for almost 6 months and right now, I have to wait for another 6 months only I could see her. She is flying over to Sydney for 6 days then she will be off to NZ for 6 months to look for a job in hotelier.. I'm happy for her being able to work overseas and be independent. Shirley dear, don't think too much on whether you are being stubborn on making this decision. I will support your decision.

When I pass her the gift, she was shocked that I will buy a bunny bear for her. She worried that the bear box is too big and her backpack doesn't have any space in her bag for the bunny. We had dinner at Macdonald and chatted there for close to two hours then I accompanied her to terminal 1 to check in her flight. After she check in, we talk for a while. We hugged and there she goes. She promised to call me when she reach Darwin but she didn't. Never mind but I know what time she touchdown at Darwin and Sydney...

10 jokes of the day from Newton Circus till Orchard Rd

    1. Brandon gotten himself ID check when he went into 7-11 to bought a pack. Brandon says,"Do I look that young till I got my ID checked?" I say "YEP, Your shirt and your hairstyle make you look like a young kid."

    2. Meme just notice that his pants zip spoiled when he sits down at the table after a long journey from Newton Mrt Station till Newton Circus. He say it so loud that we think everyone near our table hear it.

    3. After our dinner, we plan to walk all the way to Orchard from where we were. The guys need to use the loo. Meme is the first person who went to the loo and he went to the wrong loo instead, he went into the girl's loo. I shouted at him and tell him that he is in the wrong loo and he looks darn embarrassing because we girls laughed too loud. opps... Meme, people thinks that you are drunk when you are not!!

    4. Brandon ask "Where are we??" after our long walk from Newton Circus. I told him that we are at Peak Heay Rd. He said No, we are at the junction of Peak Heay Rd and Anthony Rd.

    5. We saw a couple walk past us holding their dog whose fur darn long and looks like sweeping the rd as they walk. Jannah says "What a cute dog that look like a mop??" We thinks what if we place the dog right next to a stick? Will the maid be able to tell whether it's a dog there or is it a mop. What will happen to the dog??

    6. Do you know how to pronounce fur? Does your accent sound right when you pronounce it. This happen to Esmond!! He pronounce fur as flus. Reason, Jannah just watch CJ7 movie. The dog's fur sort of reminded her of the CJ7 character. The rubber push toy that can talk with flus instead of fur.

    7. Brandon went to buy ice creams for us and himself. While he was halfway of finishing his ice cream, Brandon says that he got cheated!! He says that his strawberry sundae ice cream has a hole in the middle. SO I ask him, is it a boy or a girl as he continue on eating. He replied me its a girl then I laugh...

    8. Out of randomness, Shaggy ask Brandon, so when're you going to Aus?? Brandon replied April. Jannah says Ain't it HOT DOWN there???

    9. Shaggy ask Brandon, WIll you get yourself LAID while you are down there?? Brandon said don't know?? Maybe. So we said that we need to prepare a BIG BANNER for Brandon when he returns from his trip. The banner would be a picture of Brandon and his name - Brandon Hu ZhenYu, WELCOME HOME. Right at the bottom of the Banner, we caps "BRANDON HU ZHENYU GOT LAID DOWN THERE AT AUS!!! Then Brandon suggest that we do 2 Banner, first banner is Welcome home. 2nd banner is You got Laid.. We thought of going to BrasBrasah to do it. Then out of the blues, Shaggy suggest that we use bed sheet. Jannah suggest with stain and you know what stain it is!!!

    10. Do you know that in States, they have SEX channel?? We chatted about it right after Brandon's got LAID joke!! There's a talk show discussing about the new invention for women, a rubber glove that looks like lips. The presenter of the talk show did a demonstration on it and use it to wash the dish. While the presenter washing the dish with the glove, she says it could lick/clean the dish clean. Does it mean that you could rely on this invention to gives you satisfaction and a real guy can't is it. Both gives the same thing...

Went out to Queensway Shopping Centre to help Sand shop for her tracking shoe. We walk ard the shop in Queensway to look for her shoe with a reasonable price and a shoe tht's comfortable for her and we found it. A Nike shoe for her. Congrats Sand. After Queensway, we head over to Vivo City for a movie plus shopping at New Urban Male for my stuff and shop for Puma watches for my lil sis and me. The movie tht we watch is Bride Wars and i must tht is one hell of nice show depicting how long ends a friendship would last when you and your best friend shares the same date as you on your wedding day. Its a love and hate friendship war between Liv and Emma. I love the direction of the movie, how the director depict the movie with his video and picture style in between of the movie. Love the plot and the ending of the show. In my ideal wedding gown, I would like to wear Vera Wang wedding gown because Vera Wang don't alter her dress, its the bride who wants to wear it must alter herself for the gown. In another word it means you must diet all the way so tht you could fit on the dress on yr wedding day. After the movie, we went to New Urban Male where I told myself I wouldn't get another pair of pria because I don't trust myself with pria as mine jus last for abt 2 months. Gotten myself a pair of havanas, num tee plus a queenstown sleeveles num. All of it cost me close to my two weeks of allowances but it was worth it as I got the stuff tht I like. Get to meet nice dudes at num chatted with them for awhile on clothes plus knw a new fact tht gays love sunday because sunday is their day. Isn't it so cool, gays have sunday as their day where else lebby and bis have thursday as their day. Don't ask me how I knw but i jus do. Bought a pair of Puma touchscreen watch. I love it but I'm not sure whether my sis like it. If she don't like it, she could change the watch. She jus shake her head when she sees the watch and the resit. I have No idea Wht she want and i won't purchase anymore of Puma stuff for her.. Above pic shows what's inside of my num bag:) mommy still have No idea tht I bought stuff from num.. Got scolding for going out and watch movie for the day as she wasn't feeling well today. Think tht I can't go out with Rach this saturday as she isn't feeling gd..
